11th January 2011

Dear Parents

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL.

It was such a joy to see all the children returning to school after the Christmas break. There is nothing quite like the happy smile of a child to lift the spirits on a cold, dark winter morning. We have a very busy term ahead of us so please make a note of the dates below or refer to our school website www.thephoenixschool.co.uk. We now have the ability to update our website regularly so please refer to it for information, dates and arrangements.

We still have plenty of uniform available for our growing children and I am so pleased to see how smart they all look. The children take such pride in our school identity so I would ask you to please to ensure that The Phoenix School badges are used to obscure any other logos on the clothing. Badges are available from Jo Hopkins as are school t-shirts or, alternatively, pop a note in your child’s communication book and let me know what you need. Please could you ensure that ALL children have a pair of black ballet shoes and plimsolls and that Reception children have their P.E. kit in school.

Clubs have started again this week with a slight change in timings. Mrs Cooke will take Sewing Club after school on Wednesday and I will take Computer Club during lunchtime on Thursday. Please return your club replies as soon as possible as the places are filling up fast.

Our holiday Playscheme will be running over the half term holiday 21st – 25th February, from 8.30 am – 4.30 pm. There will be a variety of activities available and you will find details on the website. Please let me know if you would like a place for your child to avoid disappointment.

I look forward to seeing you all in and around our school and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.

Yours sincerely

Jackie Daire
